CLEANSE:

Suggestions: Purpose, Obagi Clenziderm M.D. Daily Care Foaming Cleanser, Aveeno, Olay products, Cetaphil, Philosophy, The Body Shop Aloe Calming Facial Cleanser, Clean & Clear Foaming Facial Cleanser

-AVOID cleansers with ingredients such as: alcohols, harsh detergents, fragrance, mineral oils, soap, menthol, SLS just to name a few

-Dry or Sensitive skin: Use cleansers that are basic and gentle and contain: glycerin & hyaluronic acids (humectants that draw water to the skin), lactic acid, jojoba oil, almond seed oil.

-Acne prone and Oily skin: Do not equate tingle with deeper clean. These extra ingredients may feel good, but may cause more harm than good in the long run. DO NOT use products that are drying to your skin...instead use a mild cleanser to calm the skin, restore the skin's pH and barrier and use moisturizers and or spot treatments that contain ingredients for corrective issues.

EXFOLIATE:

Suggestions:

(Chemical): Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant or Gentle Cream Exfoliant, peel (but consult with doctor prior to use). Also look for products with these ingredients: salicylic acid for acne prone/oily, retinoids, glycolic acid, lactic acid, tartaric acid (all in low concentrations between 2%-4%...to avoid irritation...unless under licensed professional's care)

(Physical): Olay Definity Pore Refining Scrub, Skin Prep Scrub by Demalogica, a facial brush, AVOID APROCOIT SCRUB. This product if made of walnut shells that have been grinded unevenly and can cause small tears/cuts in your face...which can result in future marks on the skin. Buy products made with plastic beads that are rounded and will not harm you.

-Two types: Physical (includes beads, scrubs that manually removes dead skin cells) and Chemical (uses acids or enzymes to loosen bonds that hold dead cells together: like packman). Everyone could benefit from exfoliating at least 2 times per week- DO NOT let dead skin cells build up on the surface and clog your pores. Regular exfoliation can reduce breakouts and brighten and soften your skin's texture.

-Acne prone skin: Because of your skin's inability to naturally shed dead skin cells, exfoliation is a must. However, physical exfoliants are not the best fit because it may cause irritation to already inflamed skin. Invest in an exfoliant in chemical form which can be included in gels, masks, moisturizers, etc. Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Beta Hydroxy Acids (are not harmful as they sound % of ingredient matters). AHA's and BHA's are both exfoliants that penetrate into the skin to help remove dead skin cells and soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

TONE:

Suggestions: Noah's Natural Antioxidant Toner Mist, Nivia Moisturizing Toner, MAC Fix+, Multi-active toner by Dermalogica, L'Oreal HydraFresh Toner, N.

-The purpose of a toner is to act as the "rinse cycle" or "refreshing cycle" for your face. Everyone should use toner after washing the face to remove any leftover cleansers or dirt and restore the skins pH balance by hydrating the face. Do not use a toner with alcohol in it. You can buy alcohol free toners.

MOISTURIZE WITH SPF:

Suggestions:

(Acne prone skin) look for ingredients such as salicylic acid (other BHA's) which can cut through oil and penetrate deep into the skin to help correct issues; use oil-free moisturizers such as Clinique Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer Oil Free

(Normal or Combination skin) BWC or Beauty without Cruelty Facial Moisturizer, Biore Duel Fusion with SPF 30, Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer

(Oily skin) oil free moisturizers: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer SPF 20, Fashion Fair Oil Free Moisturizer, Olay Regenerist UV Defense Rejuvenating Lotion SPF 15

(Sensitive/Dry skin) Aveeno Ultra Calming SPF 30, Eucerin, Cerave Moisturizing Cream, Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

-For most skin types use emollients that contain glycerin & silicones, antioxidants, humectants. Remember there is a difference between oil and moisture and your skin need to be moisturized for optimal skin health. It seals in moisture and acts as a barrier that will not allow moisture to evaporate. If the skin is moisturized....less issues like acne and wrinkles will occur...period. Also use an SPF of 15 or more and remember to reapply during the day. Skin cancer is real (EbonyCPrincess voice)!

CORRECTIVE:

-For areas of concern such as hyperpigmentation (dark marks) try using a serum with hydroquinone and active sunscreens. Some cheaper OTC products are Ambi Fade Cream and Palmer's Skin Success Eventone Fade Milk.

This BMW has a failed crankcase vent valve. Also known as the oil separator, CCV. This failure has created a high vacuum situation which is causing an engine noise. The noise is created from air being sucked through the rear main seal. This is a simple test to see if you have high crankcase pressure.
